Complete sets of teaching notes in PowerPoint® format are now available for the Statistics and Modelling course. These are at Pre-University or Senior High School level Mathematics.

These notes have been developed and tested over the last two years in New Zealand classrooms and are in use at over 60 High Schools throughout the country.

This set of presentations consist of over 700 slides covering senior High School Statistics topics such as:

• Time Series
• Probability Trees
• Conditional Probability
• The Normal Distribution
• The Binomial Distribution
• The Poisson Distribution
• Regression
• Confidence Intervals

The presentations also cover Modelling (Applied) topics such as:

• Linear programming
• Curve Fitting
• Solving Equations: Newton Raphson Method
• Solving Equations: Bisection Method

Alternative approaches include both use of tables (e.g. Normal, Binomial etc.) and use of the graphics calculator. These alternative approaches can be chosen "on the fly" by clicking links on the slides.

The PowerPoint teaching notes require a computer running Microsoft® Windows 2000 or later, PowerPoint 2000 or later and with at least 500MB of disk space available for use by the program.

Purchasers can also download files from which reduced copies (15 per page or 6 per page) of the slides can be printed for use by students.

Each set of presentations is only available on an annual licence fee basis.

The standard fee is $US70 per school for each of the two sets. ($NZ100 incl GST and P&P NZ details here).
